Will Dai Gyakuten Saiban Ever Get Localized? (From Capcom Unity)

*This was posted to Capcom Unity on November 1st, 2015 on my Ace Attorney Localization [News] blog and I decided to post it here just from the sake of having something posted.

It's been quite some time since I've actually posted a blog entry. I've just been kind of busy with School and stuff and haven't had much time to report about things such as the announcement of Ace Attorney 6. However, I do not feel the need to go into detail or the news regarding the sixth installement of the main series because Capcom has already confirmed that it will be localized and this blog is here for the Ace Attorney games that have yet to be localized for the most part.

Anyways, back in September (I know, that was like two months ago) I sent a message to Janet Hsu regarding Dai Gyakuten Saiban all the concern I've seen from fans. Honestly, while I'm more interested in Ace Attorney 6's medium trials, it would be a huge shame and missed opportunity for Capcom if it didn't get localized. Anyways, the message contained details about the concern I noticed on social media such as Twitter and I even mentioned how I was more looking forward to Ace Attorney 6, but despite that would love to see Dai Gyakuten Saiban localized. Several days later, I got a reply.

"I saw on Facebook and Twitter that people were wondering about DGS, and to be honest, I am not privy to Producer level and above discussions, so I'm not entirely sure how the decision was made to localize AA6 over DGS. I personally think that part of the reason is because we can only handle one AA game at a time (there's only one of me, after all ^^; ) so it's still entirely possible that DGS may be localized in the future. That said, my team and I are working hard on the localization of AA6. I hope it'll live up to your expectations." - Janet Hsu

And that pretty much sums up all the news I have on Dai Gyakuten Saiban possibly getting localized at the moment. Capcom's [Ace Attorney] localization team is small, so they can only get one game at a time. Honestly, it makes sense that they want to prioritize the main series. It's probably more important that the main series games get out here than any of the other ones, anyways.

But it is still possible for us to get our hands on Dai Gyakuten Saiban in the west in the future. If nothing is announced at all in 2016 (likely after Ace Attorney 6 comes out), then we can start worrying about a fan translation in 2017. So for now, we just need to be patient, but never forget to remind Capcom that we want this game.
